Step 1: Consultation and investigations

After the initial consultation, during which the specialist assesses the general health of the patient and determines the need for total rehabilitation of the arch through All-on-4 or All-on-6, the patient will take dental x-rays and a dental CT, as well as blood tests .

Step 2: The procedure is chosen: All-on-4 or All-on-6

The CT scan allows the doctor to assess the volume and quality of the bone mass in which the implants are to be inserted. Depending on this, the specialist will decide whether the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure is optimal for the patient.  Even now, together with the surgeon you can choose the appropriate sedation method.

Step 3: Rehabilitation of the teeth with implants and temporary prosthesis

The All-on-4/All-on-6 intervention is performed under anesthesia. The 4 or 6 implants are inserted perpendicularly and/or obliquely, for the best possible anchoring in the bone, and if extractions are necessary, they are done during the same intervention, before implantation. 

After fixing the implants, prosthetic abutments will be inserted. Then the temporary prosthesis will be attached – immediately or within 24 hours after the surgery.

Step 4: Fixing the definitive ceramic prosthesis

The patient has complete and functional dentition 24 hours after the All-on-4 or all 6 implant, but it is a fixed work on 4 implants (or on 6) provisional, worn until the osseointegration of the implants, which lasts 4- 6 months. After this period, the provisional prosthesis is replaced by a definitive one, qualitatively and aesthetically superior, made of ceramic.

Preparation for All-on-4 or All-on-6 intervention

48 hours before the intervention, the consumption of alcohol is contraindicated, and on the day of the operation, the consumption of coffee and other drinks containing caffeine. 

Anticoagulant treatments must be discontinued prior to All-on-4/All-on-6 insertion. The doctor will indicate the optimal period. 

The doctor may recommend starting antibiotics the day before surgery and using a chlorhexidine mouthwash.

Recommendations after the intervention

The patient will follow the antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and anti-algesic treatment prescribed by the doctor. After the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure, it will also be necessary to use a mouthwash with chlorhexidine. 

On the day of the intervention, very cold or hot foods and drinks should be avoided, and in the first days after the implant, liquid and soft, pureed foods are mainly recommended. 

Two weeks after the implant, exercise is contraindicated, and until healing, alcohol and tobacco are contraindicated.
