Periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease, is a prevalent dental issue that has the potential to result in tooth loss. 

Periodontology – treatment of gingival diseases Periodontics or gum disease is a common dental problem that can lead to tooth loss. Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and periodontopathy (periodontal disease) are the most common types of gum disease in adults.
