Dental radiology refers primarily to dental radiography. It involves the radiation that is used to print the image on the film. The radiograph or picture is the result of the image we see. Dental radiography is an extremely important diagnostic element. These images show the dentist many aspects that are not visible during a simple examination of the oral cavity. That’s why X-rays are an essential part of a correct and complete examination. In order to perform a correct control, it is important to use dental x-rays, in addition to the visual examination. When both means are not used correctly, the result is an inferior examination, and thus a precarious treatment.
